PACKED VENUE FOR DERBYSHIRE CONTRACTOR SUPPORT EVENT

On Monday 30th January contractors and members of their teams filled the LPC’s venue at the Derbyshire hotel to hear the speakers from PSNC, NHS England and Derbyshire LPC reveal plans to support our contractors.

Alastair Buxton, Director of NHS Services at PSNC discussed what PSNC has been doing, and continues to do,  to support contractors. His presentation, which can be viewed here contains vital information and numerous links to resources.

Garry Myers, PSNC Regional Representative (and an independent pharmacy contractor) provided an detailed guide to the financial impact of the government-imposed changes to the contract. His presentation, which can be viewed here contains numerous hints and tips to help contractors plan survival over the coming months.

As contractors will have seen from our recent communications, the LPC has secured some funding from Health Education England to enable us to offer some free training which will help contractors commence their journey towards Healthy Living Pharmacy Level 1 accreditation. Whilst a great deal of work and commitment is involved, there are 20 Quality Payment points available when successful.

Sam Travis (NHS England) sets out exactly what becoming a Healthy Living Pharmacy entails in her presentation, which is available here.

Graham Archer (LPC Chief Officer) then revealed the LPC’s plans for the free training that will be offered. His presentation is available here.

Contractors will be contacted in due course with a date, time and venue for when their nominated employees will be able to attend a face-to-face training event.
