60 Second Interview with: Ben Eaton
How long have you worked in pharmacy?
I did my pre-reg with Dean and Smedley in 1999, qualifying as a Pharmacist in July 2000, I then became the manager at my current branch with of Dean and Smedley in Dec 2000 and have stayed there ever since.
What is your favourite thing about the job?
I love helping people understand their health and medication. Being in the same role for so long, I have seen peoples families grow up, babies that I remember being born, now walk in taller than me for advice. That’s awesome!
What would you do for a career if you weren’t doing this?
A pilot. I love flying.
If you could learn to do anything at all, what would it be?
Learn to fly.
If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?
Buy a Porsche 911
If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet?
That’s a tricky one, my favourite band is Queen, so probably Freddie Mercury, but Nelson Mandela would be a close second.
When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time?
Free time? What’s that? 😃 I try to get out running when I can.
How do you define success in life?
How happy and content my family are and in turn how happy I am.
What’s your favourite indoor/outdoor activity?
Running. I ran the 2018 London Marathon, one of the best experiences of my life!
What is the title of your favourite book?

What chore do you absolutely hate doing?
Cleaning the house!!

Caring, Determined, Friendly
Do you have a favourite film?
Top Gun 😃
Do you have a favourite sport to watch or play?
Rugby and football (Derby County)
Can you share a guilty pleasure?
Wine and wine gums (every Friday night😃)
What gets on your nerves?
People who think pharmacies and their staff are there to be shouted at and people that ask for advice but clearly aren’t listening to the reply!!
What would you name the autobiography of your life?

If you could change one thing about pharmacy, what would it be?
The government!!
