GDPR update

A lot of information is available from PSNC, the NPA and other organisations. Our advice (inline with that of PSNC) is that contractors should:
- Complete the ‘Workbook for Community Pharmacy Part 3’ available from the PSNC website (or similar document so you can demonstrate what steps you have taken to achieve GDPR compliance) Workbook for Community Pharmacy (Part 3)
- Train your pharmacy team in GDPR and their role. Patients or members of the public with questions about GDPR are likely to ask your staff first. This booklet from PSNC can help train your team Guidance for Community Pharmacy (short version) (Part 2)
- Complete and display a Privacy Notice in your pharmacy and on your website Template available in the workbook
- Appoint a Data Protection Officer (DPO) Data Protection Officer (DPO) – top tips and advice
- Complete a Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) Model Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA)
